Over the past two years we have been programming the variety of events and shows at the bandstand. We have had Dance events, Poetry, Drama, Brass Bands sundays, a Youth Arts Festival, Storytelling, Craft Workshops, all types of live music and even a Tai Chi Workshop!
All the shows and events at the Bandstand are FREE!
We will be putting together the 2012 April-September Bandstand Programme, we would really like to find out what you would like to see at the bandstand. We are about to start planning a couple of exciting new events, these are the ideas so far:
- A fantastic new show devised from local peoples stories about the Fry's Factory.
- Family fun creative days-
- We are looking for local people who would like to run a workshop, all suggestions welcome. If you have a hidden talent come and share it with us.
- An event celebrating the Queens Jubilee
- A resident dance company led by local young people will be performing and running workshops
- The 2012 Youth Fest will be in September and we will be looking for groups and young people to get involved to showcase their talents.
Due to very popular demand our regular events Brass Band Sundays will be on throughout the season, the Hymns in the Park event and Elemental Theatre Storytelling will be back for more magical tales and making magical crafts.
If you are local group or band looking to showcase your talents? Maybe you would like to run a workshop for the family fun days? Or you may want to see a new show at the bandstand. Contact Dawn for more info.
