The exhibition celebrated their involvement in all the community work they do and for helping to make Keynsham a great place to live over the years and also revealing the things they enjoy that others might not know.
This was a partnership project between Keynsham Town Council Youth Service and Arts Development and Bath Fringe Visual Arts Festival, which supports local creative talent giving people a platform to show their work to a wider public audience.
Through providing professional mentoring by photographer Tanya Moulsen and advice in exhibiting their work for this project and their own work. Young people from Time Out Youth Centre where involved in a project called 'Recipes for Life' .This was a partnership project with Time Out Youth Centre, Keynsham Town Council Arts Development,Creativity Works, Suited and Booted & Bath Fringe Visual Arts Festival. The project involved young people working with local artists in a variety of art forms. The young people were consulted in what kind of art workshops they would like to take part in. Cake making with sweets and treats, photography and recycling textiles came out top ideas. They created a gorgeous array of cakes and tasty treats; from truffles to Chocolate and Beetroot cake. They have also created fantastic clothes and art work from recycled material, from badge making to tye-dye T shirts. Next to start is photography where the young people will have the opportunity to learn photography skills and then have their work exhibited as part of the Bath Fringe Visual Arts Festival. Suited and Booted will be working with young people to document the 'Recipes for Life Project' then created resources that will enable young people to engage in positive activities to support their well being.
Mark from Time Out Youth Centre said "The young people had a fantastic time in the sessions working alongside professional artists, we have had young people who's first experience of cooking is with this project. The arts sessions have helped young people to share and informally chat about many issues that are affecting them."

Keynsham Creates Festival
‘Keynsham Creates’ a large scale month long community led Festival. The main aim for the Keynsham Creates project was to celebrate Keynsham’s growing creative community and to promote local groups and arts activities to the community of Keynsham in order to encourage future participation. We offered the opportunity to people of all ages and abilities to try out something new with a series of taster arts workshops in a range of indoor and outdoor venues, facilitated by professional local artists and amateur groups.
The workshops included an event or a workshop every day for a month including a range of arts and crafts, singing - with local choirs, drumming and recycled instrument workshops, world music and dance workshops. CreateXchange opened up their studiois and hosted a fantastic range of arts workshops from Murder Mystery Writing to wire sculpture making. We also worked with a wide range of local people who volunteered in a variety of roles, inc artists and photographers to document all the creative activities, this led to a photographic exhibition of ‘Keynsham Creates’ as part of the Bath Visual Arts Festival, this was a great opportunity to promote the project and all the great creative work the people where involved in.
