Being prepared for an emergency doesn't mean expecting one to happen; it simply means taking a few simple steps now that could make a difficult situation much easier to manage. Events such as severe weather, flooding, power cuts, water supply interruptions or other unexpected incidents can happen with little warning. Having important information close to hand, knowing who to contact, and planning what you would do can help reduce stress and enable you to respond quickly if the need arises.

As part of our community resilience planning, Keynsham Town Council is encouraging all residents to take a few moments to familiarise themselves with the information on their Grab & Go card and to keep it somewhere easy to find.

We also recommend making a note of your nearest Place of Refuge should one be opened during an emergency, and discussing your plans with family, friends or neighbours, particularly those who may need extra support.

A little preparation today can make a significant difference tomorrow, helping to keep you, your loved ones and our community safe.
