Feedback on Timetable

The Emergency Train Service Timetable has been in operation since 28th March 2020, under the Government’s Emergency Measures Agreements for Train Operators. This is strictly to allow key workers and those in essential roles to travel for the purposes of work / service delivery. While the overall message remains Stay at Home, Save Lives, the emergency timetable is not widely promoted. Instead, train operators and the British Transport Police have adopted the strapline ‘Is your Journey Necessary?’

Severnside Community Rail Partnership are looking for examples from key /essential workers of where amendments to the timetable could bring a better fit with their shift patterns or working hours.

Train times can be found through all the usual journey planner applications. Current local service provision below:

Bristol regional services

An hourly service will operate between Bristol Temple Meads and Gloucester. A two-hourly service will operate on the following routes:

  • between Cardiff Central and Portsmouth Harbour
  • between Bristol and Taunton
  • Swindon – Melksham – Westbury TransWilts services will run every two hours
  • Westbury – Weymouth, there will be three services per day

Bristol Temple Meads – Severn Beach line services are reduced and operate to amended times.

Any feedback or comments that Keynsham Town Council receive around this provision will be relayed by the Partnership to the WECA/Bristol Transport Board group.
